A l’issue des deux premières journées des essais collectifs d’avant-saison 2015 et qui se disputaient ces 1er et 2 avril sur la piste du circuit de Sakhir dans l’Ile de Bahreïn, c’est le pilote Japonais Nobuharu Matsushita de l’équipe Française ART GP, qui s’est montré le plus rapide des quatre sessions.
Ayant signé le temps de référence ce jeudi après-midi, avec un chrono de 1’40″191, Nobuharu Matsushita s’offre donc le meilleur temps absolu des quatre séances qui se sont déroulées mercredi et jeudi.
Le meilleur chrono des trois autres sessions précédentes, revenant respectivement dans l’ordre au Russe Sergey Sirotkin de l’écurie Rapax, en 1’41″797, ce jeudi matin et à Jordan King le pilote Racing Engineering, 1er en 1’41″494 hier mercredi aprés-midi cependant que le Néo-Zélandais Mitch Evans du Team Russian Time, avait obtenu le meilleur temps de la première séance hier mercredi à l’issue de la première séance matinale, en 1’42″479.
Côté Français, des quatre pilotes tricolores en poiste en GP2 cette année – Pierre Gasly, Norman Nato, Nathanaël Berthon et Arthur Pic – c’est finalement Arthur Pic qui roule avec l’écurie Espagnole Campos qui a été le plus rapide, décrochant le deuxième meilleur temps absolu, chrono signé ce ce jeudi après-midi en 1’40″350.
