24 HEURES DE DAYTONA 2014. VICTOIRE POUR LES CORVETTE DP QUI SIGNENT LE… QUADRUPLE !
Succès pour la N° 5 du Team Action Express de Sébastien Bourdais, Christian Fittipaldi, Joao Barbosa et Burt Friselle qui l’emporte. Elle devance au terme des deux tours d’horloge, deux autres Corvette DP, la N°10 du Team de Wayne Taylor associé à ses fils et à Max Angelelli, de 1 »661 et la N°9, 3ème à 19 » 489, seconde voiture du Team Action Express, celle de Fabien Giroix, John Martin et Bryan Friselle qui complètent le podium.
Ensuite, on trouve mais à deux tours, encore une quatrième Corvette, la N°90 du Team Spirit of Daytona de Mike Rockenfeller, Richard Westbrook et Michael Valiante qui devance l’Oreca Nissan, N°6 de l’équipe Pickett-Muscle Milk de Klaus Graf, Lucas Luhr et Alexander Brundle, classée à 3 tours et la 1ère GT, la Porsche 991 GT2, N°911, celle du Team Porsche-CORE, de l’équipage Tandy, Lietz et Patrick Pilet, le tricolore et qui à 16 tours finit 6ème suivi de la BMW Z4GTE N°55 de Bill Auberlen, Andy Priaulx, Joey Hand et Maxime Martin et la Morgan-Nissan de l’écurie Française OAK Racing du quatuor Pla, Rusinov,Webb et Yacamam.
Le TOP 10 étant, lui, complété par deux ORECA FLM09.
Dans les autres catégories, Porsche l’emporte en GTLM avec la 911 RSR, la N°911 du trio formé de Patrick Pilet, Nick Tandy et Richard Lietz.
En PC, la victoire revient au Team Core Autosport avec l’ORECA FLM09, la N°54.
Cependant qu’en GTD, c’est l’Audi R8 LMS du Team Flying Lizard Motorsports qui triomphe étant déclarée victorieuse sur tapis vert, après la pénalité infligée à la Ferrari N°555.
